Sammy Hagar’s Ivory Ferrari LaFerrari Leads Bonhams Miami Ahead of F1 Grand Prix Weekend

Bonhams has confirmed the headline lot for its Miami auction on Sunday, May 3, 2026: a 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari Coupé finished in a one-off shade called Bianco Avorio ivory, originally delivered to rock legend Sammy Hagar. The sale takes place inside Hard Rock Stadium during the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix weekend, with the car estimated at $7,500,000–$9,500,000. It carries the Lot 18P designation — the “P” marking it as a Premium Lot, meaning online bidding will not be available.

The Car — One of One in This Colour

VIN ZFF76ZFA2F0212166 is, according to Bonhams, the only LaFerrari ever finished in Avorio — a shade drawn from a 1964 Ferrari prototype. The interior pairs Cream and Black leather with a bespoke steering wheel that matches the exterior, fitted with a plaque inscribed SH1013, referencing Hagar’s initials and birth date. The sale includes a factory-commissioned scale replica of the car, a build-process book, and a display plaque signed by Hagar from its appearance at The Quail.

Beneath the carbon-fibre monocoque sits a 6,262cc DOHC V12 paired with a Formula 1-derived Kinetic Energy Recovery System — combined output is 963bhp at 9,000rpm, sent through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The numbers are stark: 0–55 mph in under 2.4 seconds, top speed north of 217 mph. Carbon ceramic brakes at all four corners. Forged aluminium wheels measure 19×9.5 inches up front, 20×13 at the rear.

The odometer showed just 1,772 miles at time of cataloguing. Hagar originally paid approximately $1.4 million for the car in 2015, then sold it at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Fall 2024 auction for $4,675,000 — at the time a world auction record for a LaFerrari Coupé. The current owner has added only around 200 miles in the period since, though the precise elapsed time is subject to some uncertainty in the available records.

The Hagar Factor

Hagar — former Van Halen frontman and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer — drove his LaFerrari onto the Barrett-Jackson block on October 12, 2024, the day before his 77th birthday, arriving to his hit song I Can’t Drive 55. His reason for selling was characteristically direct:

“It’s too much car for me. I’m getting older and my reflexes and eyesight are not the same, and that car is beyond me — I can’t use what it can do. I would never take it on a track… If I wrecked the LaFerrari, it would break my heart.”

Hagerty observed at the time of the Barrett-Jackson sale: “One could very well make the case it is the best LaFerrari in the world and was priced accordingly.” Hagar is on Ferrari’s select customer list. Allocation for a car limited to 499 units isn’t simply purchased — it’s granted.

Market Context — Records Within Reach

The estimate is aggressive. The market backdrop, though, supports it. All halo Ferrari models achieved new auction records at Mecum Kissimmee in January 2026, with a Ferrari Enzo approaching $18 million, and a 2017 LaFerrari Aperta set a new model record of $11,000,000 at the same sale. Only six LaFerrari Coupés have ever exceeded $5 million at public auction — if bidding reaches the low estimate here, this car would shatter that ceiling decisively. Hagerty’s #1 concours valuation for the model stands at $4.4 million, and this lot’s reserve is almost certainly above that figure.

The spring 2026 LaFerrari market is active on multiple fronts. A signal green 2014 example estimated at $4,360,000–$4,900,000 crosses the RM Sotheby’s Monaco block on April 25, and a delivery-mileage black 2014 car heads to Mecum Indianapolis on May 16. Neither carries comparable provenance or the singular colour distinction of the Hagar car.

Sale Day Logistics — and the Rest of the Docket

The sale is positioned on race day itself — Sunday, May 3 — held on the 300-level inside Hard Rock Stadium, directly above the Paddock Club. Early viewing by appointment runs Wednesday, April 29 from 9am to 12pm. Public viewing for F1 ticket holders continues Friday, May 1 from 11:30am to 8pm and Saturday, May 2 from 10am to 7pm. The pre-auction preview for registered bidders opens Sunday at 8am.

Supporting the headline lot is a strong modern hypercar docket. A one-of-five McLaren P1 Spider by Lanzante in Gulf livery is estimated at $4,000,000–$5,000,000. A 2024 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport — one of 80 built — finished in Black Carbon and Jet Grey carries a $4,400,000–$5,000,000 estimate. A one-of-60 2019 Bugatti Chiron Sport with over $198,000 in factory options is guided at $2,800,000–$3,200,000.

If the Hagar LaFerrari clears $7.5 million, it will set a new Coupé model record by a margin of nearly $3 million — and signal that provenance and colour singularity now command a substantial premium over condition alone in the modern hypercar segment.
